yep- aracade lane is a pop-up bar in the street of the same name- and from there you access the two smaller 'once were regent' cinemas. Had a good show last night with 80 or so making it up... it was pretty hot in the venue, but the dancefloor fired up nonetheless. Atomitek made a smashing live debut and we overcame all manner of technical hurdles to give the people what they came for. With any luck there will be some reviews and pics circulating soon.

FYI, our set on March 13 will include several new tracks, and will be slicker after a few more rehearsals... onwards and upwards!  biggrin

Woah when did the Regent cinemas go?

They kinda sucked anyway, if you're in that vicinity you might as well hit up Academy or the one in Hindley

Acadamey? figured that must have shut shop with all the work going down there or has it moved?

Yeah pretty sure Academy are closed atleast temporarily as they've built the Crowne Plaza where it was.

Palace Nova on Rundle, and the Mercury on Hindley St... viva les independentes!

A gallery of pics from Beatburger are up now... thanks to angusc! Unf. he couldn't stay for the Atomitek set, so it's just Supermarket's sit-down set in the snaps... dancefloor arced up later though icon_wink

Really? Wow.

I guess it makes sense, going to the movies is expensive, if people do go they're more likely going to go to one of the better suburban cinemas (eg. TTP, Marion). Plus heaps of people are getting big flatscreens, home theatres and downloading movies so they'll stay at home instead.

yeah- with any luck it'll be 'expanded cinema' events, like multiscreen shows, 3d and the like that keep cinema's relevant... live performance with projection etc... the Mercury gets this idea, and that keep us going back Smiley plus they play a lot of wierd and obscure films, independent films and hard-to-find classics...
