Originally from the Barossa Valley, Desh moved to Adelaide to study illustration at uni and has quickly become a prominent figure in the local dubstep scene.

Part of the Redline Dubstars crew, Desh has helped to promote and play at some key dubstep events over the last 2 years, including Tes La Roc (FIN), N-Type (UK), Reso (UK), Seven (UK), Truth (NZ) & Westernsynthetics (SYD), Afficks & A13(MELB), Kito (WA) on top of a slew of local shows including 5 Buck Bass, Bump and Pleasure amongst others. He has also mixed drum and bass under the moniker Bkay and was a finalist in the Inbound Future Forces dj competition in 2009 as well as the Lockdown dj competition in 2006

Desh currently co-hosts the weekly dubstep radio show The Bassbin alongside Jayar on Fresh FM 10pm-12pm Thursdays.

Upcoming gigs include :

Noah D (US) & Trolley Snatcha (UK)
5 Families of Drums and Bass
and will be a resident on rotation at the upcoming SUBSECTS weekly show at HQ

In his AM:Digital mix, Desh has hoped to showcase the deeper, more 2-step infused side of dubstep, which then transitions into some deep minimal dnb for the final half of the mix.

Desh is a scorpio and his favourite colour is green. His favourite artists are Egon Schiele and Francis Bacon and his favourite TV show is The Office (UK version).

Desh also has a blog which you can find @ http://bkay01.wordpress.com/

Absurd and blasphemous notion."

What I really like about this mix is that it is a mix that you wouldn't find in a lot of the mix CDs you would find in the shops.

This mix you can listen to when you are at home, on the way to work, when you can relax or when you can do normal everyday things.  A lot of the mixes out there are practise night club sets.  When you listen to them they are as if you are out on it at a club.  I'm not out at a club.  I'm at home.  I'm in the car.  I'm in my lounge room sitting down smoking a bong, watching repeats of shit on foxtel.  Why would I chuck on your I'm the best DJ / Big Club / Festival set when I am not doing that shit.

Quality mix buddy.

Cheers
Phil
